Triumph Speed 400 and Speed T4 Prices Slashed by Up to ₹16,797 Despite GST Hike

In a surprising move ahead of the festive season, Triumph Motorcycles has announced a significant price reduction for its popular Speed 400 and Speed T4 models. The ex-showroom price cut goes up to ₹16,797, making both motorcycles more accessible to buyers despite the recent increase in GST on motorcycles above 350cc.

The Triumph Speed 400 is now priced at ₹2,33,754, down from ₹2,50,551, while the Speed T4 is priced at ₹1,92,539, reduced from ₹2,06,738.

Price Cut Comes Despite 40% GST on 350cc+ Motorcycles

Recently, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on motorcycles with engine capacities above 350cc was increased to 40%, leading to price hikes across the industry. However, Triumph and Bajaj Auto have decided to absorb the increased tax, choosing to focus on market growth rather than passing the burden onto customers.

Triumph’s Mid-Size Segment Strategy

The Speed 400 and Speed T4 play a crucial role in Triumph’s mid-size motorcycle lineup in India. Since their introduction, the Speed range has seen steady growth, with monthly sales nearly doubling through FY23–24.

Manik Nangia, President of Probiking at Bajaj Auto, emphasized that absorbing the GST impact reflects a long-term strategy aimed at strengthening Triumph’s position in India’s competitive two-wheeler market.

Final Words

With the latest price cut, Triumph aims to boost festive season sales and further consolidate its presence in the mid-size motorcycle segment. The Speed 400 and Speed T4 now offer even greater value, making them attractive options for enthusiasts seeking premium performance at a competitive price.
