At the gateway of Western Ghats in Shivamogga where the natural beauty of Ayurvedic Medicine and minerals are easily available, at this junction the government has framed a unanimous decision to arose one more Ayurveda Medical College and Teaching Hospital with all the facilities pledged for the entire society of India in the year 2012. The Ayurvedic hospital is working since 1977 in the Government District Hospital, Shivamogga. Since then the Ayurvedic Hospital is providing all the Ayurvedic medical facilities to its society with the base of scientific and research oriented modalities. It is truly dedicated for the Poorest and economically weaker section to build healthy and socially well being in the society. The College and Hospital has improved in its strength on every academic and financial year as how the plants they grow plenty in Western Ghats. In the year 2018-19, the college has got the permission for the admission of 60 students to BAMS undergraduate course. Now the college has the 2nd Batch of students in BAMS graduation course. The institution with BAMS under graduation course and 60 bedded hospital working as Government Ayurveda Medical College & Teaching Hospital in Shivamogga. All the teaching fraternity is dedicated for academic and health service excellences and all the Ayurveda medical officers are dedicated for the health services to the society. |

HERBEL GARDEN (DHANWANTRI VANA):In the campus 2500 Sq. ft area is reserved for medicinal plants. About 251 different types of medicinal plants with 802 numbers of plants are nourished. Gliding view of our garden can be sighted up.
01:Dept. of Panchakarma: Panchakarma, the unique contribution of Ayurveda to mankind extends the therapeutic benefits equally over the preventive & promotional aspects of health & is recognized globally. The horizon of Panchakarma starts from the five intensive therapeutic modalities namely Vamana, Virechana, NiruhaBasti, Anuvasana Basti & Nasya Karma
02:College & Teaching hospital building In a wide 3.01 acres of land on Sagar road, infront of circuit house Shivamogga, the well structured and systematically built with student and patient friendly construction is present. It is in three floors with 2880 sq metres. The newly constructed three floor college building with the facility of all the departments is raising and at its final esteem for the students in 1600 sq meters of area.
03:Rasa Shashtra & Bhaishajya Kalpana : Department of Rasashastra & Bhaisajyakalpana deals with preparation and standardization of medicines. Classical Ayurvedic medicines are prepared with metals and medicinal herbs. Department is ornamented with charts, models, specimens & books
04:Dept. of Rachanasharira:Is the base to understand functions, diseases and treatment in the field of medicine, is taught as theory and practical. Dissection of whole dead body is carried in the well equipped dissection hall, which is the main attraction of the department. Various structures, their relations, histology can be studied here. Interactive white board is another attraction of department, where interaction is possible among subject, teacher and student, which ease dissection and theory part of the subject. Articulated and non-articulated bones made easy to understand the bones, attachments and articulations of body.

08 : Dept. of Swastha Vrutta: Ayurveda primarily is a science of positive health in this regard department of swastavritha (Generally Understood as preventive & social medicine) plays a prime role. under graduate students during 2nd phase are taught this subject, which in carporates all health related ayurvedic concepts like dinacharya (Daily Regiemen) Ritucharya (seasonal Regimen)-Sadriha (moral code of conduct ) ahara sevana karma, pathya pathya, (Therapeutic dieting) Yoga, Nature Cure techniques students are also made well work with modern principles of preventive and social medicine.
09 :OPD registration counter: OPD Registration counter with experienced staff making the entry in computer software for systematic registration and screening/distribution for specialised OPD treatment.
09 :Dept of Samhitha Siddanta: Department of Siddanta deals with the basic principles of Ayurveda. Padartha vignana, history of Ayurveda, brahatrayi subjects are under this deparment. Department is ornamented with charts & books.
10 :Dept of Shareera Kriya: Shareea Kriya is Fundamental branch deals with body structures and functions which is essential to understand and treat the diseases. Department is integrated with laboratory facility. Department is ornamented with charts, models, specimens & books.
11 :Dept of Dravya Guna: The Department of Dravyaguna intends to achieve academic excellence and promoting development of Ayurveda science by standardization, conservation of endangered species by cultivation & also by clinical application . Distributing medicinal plants to patients, those who comes to our Hospital by educating the importance & medicinal values of plants & encouraging them to cultivate & to share the knowledge.
12 :Dept of Roga Nidan Evam Vikriti Vigyan:The department deals with the subject that helps the students to know the fundamentals of a disease in terms of the cause of the disease, clinical features and pathogenesis and the means to examine the diseased individuals and essential laboratory investigations in order to diagnose the disease.
12 :Dept of Agadatantra Evam Vidhi Vaidyak:Agada Tantra is one of the Astangas of Ayurveda, dealing with toxicology. With advancement of health sciences, relationship between toxins and health has been scientifically proved. Hence Agada Tantra branch becomes highly relevant in todays context by providing better options in the management of various toxic conditions. Cumulative toxicity deals with accumulation of poison in the body through everyday consumption of unhealthy food, unprocessed and junk foods. It becomes a mandatory measure to understand it for better approach in management.
12 :Dept of Prasooti tantra & Striroga: PRASOOTI TANTRA &STREE ROGA is the one of important branch of Astangha Ayurveda which deals with diseases treatment of reproductive organs of female and the management of labour. Department has well equipped operation theater, OPD, IPD sections with good number of patients. Special treatment like hombale prayoga,Yoni prakshalana, Yoni poorana, Yoni pichu,Varti, Kshara application and Garbhini Paricharya etc increased the inflow of patients in the department. 12 :Dept of Kayachikitsa: Kayachikitsa is a specialty among eight branches of Ayurveda that deals with different systemic illnesses affecting the young and old. Clinical learning is aided by exposure to various clinical conditions. Academic activities are supported by conducting seminars, guest lectures, symposiums and interdepartmental activities
12 :Dept of Shalyatantra:Shalya Tantra deals with surgery and parasurgical procedures like Bheshajakarma, Yantrakarma, Shastrakarma, Raktamokshana, Ksharakarma, Agni karma, etc.
12 :Dept of Shalakya Tantra:Shalakya tantra is one among the Ashtanga Ayurveda which deals with diseases and treatment of shiras ( head ) specially ENT and Eye. Department has OPD & IPD units in our college hospital with good number of patients. Classical Ayurvedic medicines are prepared in the departments which are used for classical Ayurvedic procedures like nasya, aschotana, tarpana, anjana, putapaka, shorovasti, shirolepa, shiroabhyanga, gandoosha, karna poorana etc which yielded good results. A very good treatment is available with good result which increased patient inflow in OPD & IPD, which is appreciated by govt of Karnataka & CCIM New Delhi. 12 :Dept of Koumarya Britya: Kaumarbhritya is one among the Astanga Ayurveda ,which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to children.The branch of Kaumarbhritya is a comprehensive study about the prenatal, postanatal baby care as well as different ailment .This branch of Ayurveda with an aim to achieve a healthy and disease free society, strives for the well being of a kid right from its conception
