Triumph Motorcycles’ redesigned 2025 Speed Triple 1200 RS, which retails for ₹20.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), has been formally introduced in India. It is now more competitive than ever in the European super naked motorcycle market because to significant improvements in engine output, riding control, and electronics made in this model year update.
Better Performance, More Power
The well-known but refined 1,160cc inline-3 liquid-cooled engine, which is now calibrated to produce 183 horsepower and 128 Nm—a 3 bhp and 3 Nm increase over its predecessor—lies beneath the meat-and-potatoes bodywork. Triumph credits a free-flowing exhaust system and minor adjustments to torque delivery—which is now accessible 250 rpm lower for better usability—for the performance improvements.
Suspension and Handling at the Cutting Edge
The use of Öhlins Smart EC3 semi-active suspension, which consists of electrically adjustable forks and a rear monoshock that let riders modify damping settings on the fly, may be the most notable upgrade. With features like engine braking control, switchable cornering ABS and traction control, Brake Slide Assist, and five pre-set riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and Rider), the electronics package has been thoughtfully upgraded. Wheelie control is now independent of traction control.
Ergonomics and Dimensions
The new model weights only 1 kg extra, at 199 kg wet, despite the technological improvements, demonstrating Triumph’s commitment to maintaining a lightweight yet sturdy package. The bike now has somewhat taller and broader handlebars, which change the riding position for more comfort and control, especially in sporty and urban riding situations.
Colors and Prices of Competitors
The aggressive and high-end roadster styling of the 2025 RS is highlighted by the three color options that Triumph offers: Jet Black, Granite/Diablo Red, and Granite/Performance Yellow.
The Speed Triple 1200 RS is still the most reasonably priced European super naked in India, despite a ₹2.44 lakh price hike over the model from the previous year. It undercuts top competitors like the Ducati Streetfighter V4 (₹24.62–28 lakh) and KTM 1390 Super Duke R (₹22.96 lakh).
