According to Mercedes-Benz India, the much anticipated AMG CLE-53 Coupé will formally premiere on August 12, 2025, introducing high-performance luxury to the Indian market. The new CLE53 Coupé, a daring, performance-focused replacement for the C-Class and E-Class coupes, arrives almost a year after the CLE Cabriolet’s debut.
Vibrant Style and Position
The CLE-53 Coupé is visually striking, drawing attention to itself with its enormous size. It has a recognizable Panamericana grille with vertical slats and sculpted LED headlights with DRLs on either side. In comparison to the conventional CLE, the front and rear tracks are 58 and 75 mm wider, respectively, improving stance and stability.
It is distinctly AMG thanks to sporty features like prominent fender vents, a vented bonnet, a flowing roofline, and integrated quad exhausts in a gloss-black diffuser. The standard 19-inch AMG wheels add visual weight, and for those who want additional presence, 20-inch alloy wheels are an option.
Performance and Engine
The CLE-53’s 3.0 liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, which is a part of Mercedes’ M256 lineup, is mated to a 48V mild hybrid system for improved efficiency and driveability. About 442–449 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque are produced by the system, with an extra 40 Nm of overboost for quick acceleration bursts.
Equally impressive are the performance benchmarks: 0–100 km/h in about 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h, which may be increased to 270 km/h with the optional AMG Performance Package. A nine-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox provides power to all four wheels with the 4MATIC+ system, guaranteeing control and grip in challenging circumstances.
Cabin: Sporty yet Elegant
Hardcore performance characteristics and elegance are combined inside the CLE-53 Coupé. It has an 11.9-inch portrait-style MBUX touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver display that blend in well with the dashboard. The car’s sporty personality is further reinforced by AMG animations and instrumentation.
A racing-inspired atmosphere is created in the cabin, which is primarily completed in black Alcantara and leather with carbon-fiber trim accents and eye-catching red contrast stitching. The concentrated yet feature-rich interior is completed with turbine-style AC vents, sport seats with memory settings, and a flat-bottom AMG steering wheel with capacitive touch controls.
Comfort and Technology Features
Modern features including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 64-color ambient lighting, a Burmester premium audio system, a wireless charging pad, and a head-up display are all included in the Mercedes CLE-53. Over-the-air (OTA) software updates for the MBUX system will also help owners by keeping the technology current and future-proof.
Pricing and Competition by Segment
The CLE-53 Coupé is anticipated to be priced at approximately ₹2 crore (ex-showroom India), placing it at the upper end of the premium performance market and above the departing C-Class Coupé. It will immediately compete with high-end models like the Audi RS5 (about ₹1.13 crore) and BMW M2 (approximately ₹1.03 crore), whose superior features and sleeker design make up for their higher sticker price.
The August 12, 2025, arrival of Mercedes-AMG’s CLE-53 Coupé in India signifies the brand’s emphasis on high-performance luxury in a small but luxurious package. Raw AMG energy and contemporary elegance are combined in the CLE-53, from its wide, muscular design to the powerful twin-turbo inline-six with mild hybrid backing. Inside, both luxury connoisseurs and enthusiasts are drawn to the driver-centric cockpit and cutting-edge technology.
With aggressive competitors like BMW and Audi already in place, the CLE-53 offers new competition. Its powerful design cues, innovative features, and exhilarating driving dynamics will set it apart in India’s expanding performance-luxury coupe market.
